Each packet features a variety of activities – games, interactive notebook activities, worksheets, and more! Let’s peek inside:
Heart Puzzles
Love letters make everything more fun! Students can match up the minimal pairs with these puzzles! These can be added into an interactive notebook or they can stand alone – just glue them onto a piece of construction paper to make a craft!
Groundhog Flap Ups
These cute little groundhog’s feature minimal pairs. Students can lift up the groundhog and then write a phrase or sentence underneath.
Sweet Pairs
These sheets are super fun! They feature Valentine’s Day-themed sweets on them and feature minimal pairs. Across from each word is its minimal pair. This is another fun flap-up activity where students can lift a flap and write/draw underneath.
Color by Word
I love coloring activities! In this activity, students will color the Valentine’s Day character according to the code on the side. The code features target words. For instance, on this page wherever you see “go” you will color in the area black.
Spin-Go Games
These Spin-Go games feature love bugs and are perfect for Valentine’s Day themed speech therapy! Students spin the spinner with a paperclip & pencil and then find the minimal pair and practice their target!
Each Phonology on the Fly packet addresses initial consonant deletion, final consonant deletion, velar fronting (/k, g/), palatal fronting (/sh/), backing (/t, d/), stopping (/f, v, s/), cluster reduction (/s/ blends), gliding (/l, r/), deaffrication (/ch, j/), and pre-vocalic voicing/de-voicing.
