History was one of my favorite subjects growing up, and it quickly became one of my favorite subjects to teach when I was earning my elementary education degree. There’s just something special about helping students connect with the stories behind our country’s leaders while building their communication skills at the same time.
Presidents’ Day Articulation Activities
My February Articulation Game Boards feature themes for Valentine’s Day, Groundhog Day, Mardi Gras, winter, and Presidents’ Day! These independent articulation games are designed to be used by one student. They feature clip art of Mount Rushmore, Abraham Lincoln, and the White House. Students can color as they practice, keeping their hands busy while engaging in repetitive drills and structured play. It’s a fun and motivating way to target speech sounds with a seasonal twist!
Presidents’ Day Book Companion Activities
One of my favorite Presidents’ Day read alouds is Looking at Lincoln by Maira Kalman. This book tells the story of Abe Lincoln through the eyes of a young girl who is researching her favorite president! This book is beautifully illustrated and I just had to create a literature lap book companion for it! You can read more about this companion and others in my February Literature Lap Books blog post.

Presidents’ Day Speech Therapy Crafts
These no prep Presidents’ Day speech therapy crafts are your mixed groups solution! Every student in your therapy group can create the same exact craft, but tackle different goals! These packets address articulation, apraxia, language (categories, nouns, verbs, synonyms, etc), and fluency (word targets for easy-onsets and light-contacts). These fun crafts will be a huge hit in your speech therapy sessions! They can also be used to decorate bulletin boards, classroom walls, or as door decor!

My February WH Question Stories feature a variety of themes, including Presidents’ Day!
