Groundhog Day is a quirky holiday that sneaks up on us every winter. Celebrated on February 2nd in the United States and Canada, the day centers around Punxsutawney Phil and whether or not he sees his shadow — and honestly, I’m always rooting for an early spring. If he sees his shadow, there will be six more weeks of winter. If you’re looking for free Groundhog Day printables to use in speech therapy or the classroom, this activity is a fun, no-prep way to work on pronouns while tying in this seasonal tradition.
To celebrate this winter holiday, I created a free Groundhog Day Color By Pronouns printable as a sample from my Color By Pronouns series. How to Use the Free Groundhog Printables
These free printables include five color-by-pronoun pages that can be used in speech therapy, the classroom, or at home. Each page includes a color key (for example, she = green or they = brown), and students color the picture by identifying the correct pronouns. This free printable targets the pronouns he, she, they, it, and we, adding a little novelty to pronoun instruction. You can download it for free from my Teachers Pay Teachers store by clicking here. These are ideal for kindergarten, first grade, and second grade (or any child who loves color by code activities!). They’re a great way to add lots of fun to your Groundhog Day celebration!
