Let’s dive into this WH Questions Toolkit for speech therapy! I believe that answering and asking WH Questions (who, what, when, where, and why) unlocks a whole new world for our students. Children are bombarded with WH questions ALL day long from their peers, teachers, strangers in the checkout lane, bus drivers, and neighbors. They’re a gateway into the world of communication, as most conversations begin with a question. They’re seemingly simple, but they truly are a huge skill to master and I believe they’re critical to our students’ language development.
That’s why I created a series of WH Questions Toolkits and bundled them all together! I wanted to equip SLPs with all the tools that they need to tackle this important skill. Today, I want to provide an overview of the entire bundle and later I will blog about each individual toolkit and give a variety of resources for each question!

Parent Letters
Home communication is essential to success in speech therapy. Each toolkit comes with a letter to send home to caretakers with information about what is being worked out and a few ideas to tackle the same skill at home!
WH Questions Speech Therapy Parent Handouts
Each toolkit also has a variety of parent handouts! For instance, the Where Toolkit has a bunch of handouts about prepositions. Many where questions require a preposition (example: Where are the chips? Inside the cabinet.)
These handouts are also great to bring to IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and to display in common areas to help spread information about WH Questions. They can also be given to teachers and aids!
WH Questions Speech Therapy Posters and Visuals
This particular visual is in the combination toolkit! This is great to have on hand at your therapy table and/or glued into a language notebook so that students can revisit it when they need it.
There are bigger posters for functional classroom decor and mini posters that can be on hand at the table during therapy!
WH Questions Speech Therapy Worksheets
Each toolkit comes with a variety of no prep activities!
WH Question Stories
These stories are loaded with concepts related to the question they’re about. For instance, in the when stories there are tons of times scattered throughout the story to give students lots of practice with answering when questions.
WH Questions Clip Cards
Each toolkit comes with two sets of clip cards (field of 3 and field of 2)! The combination toolkit comes with play-doh cards instead!

Speech Therapy Data Collection Sheets
Each toolkit contains data collection sheets and the combination toolkit also contains RTI handouts for teachers.
