I’m a huge fan of using interactive notebooks in speech therapy! They’re perfect for teaching, reinforcing, and reviewing language skills. Notebooks create a portfolio of sorts and a reference tool for students. Let’s take a look at some of the skills covered in the January Edition! This can be found in The Speech is Sweet Club!
Most of the activities found inside are for year around usage, but there are some winter themed ideas included too! Let’s peek inside:
The January packet addresses a ton of different grammar skills including: collective nouns, pronouns, adjectives, irregular past tense, and subject-verb agreement!
Adjectives are a building block for describing! Since it’s January, of course.. we have to describe a snowman! 🙂
Every month of this series features a different type of interactive notebook activity that tackles WH Questions! In the January packet, students lift up speech petals to answer the question!
This month students sort healthy foods and junk foods! Each month features a category sort. First students look at all the items and cut them out. Then they glue the items under the correct flap. Sorting activities are so helpful!
This is a great activity to practice using context clues. Under each flap, they’ll write the definition of each unknown word.
There are a variety of interactive venn diagrams included!
Students have the opportunity to describe a penguin, polar bear, mitten, and snowman with these flap activities! Each flap has an attribute and then students lift the flap and write the attribute underneath.
There are three different sequencing activities – how to make pancakes, how to make a pizza, and sequencing the events of a mouse eating a cookie!
There are many more pages inside, but this is an overview of what you can find! There are also a couple following directions activities inside too!
Where can you find this packet? There are four options:
The Speech is Sweet Club
