I’m absolutely obsessed with using interactive notebooks in speech therapy! They’re hands-on, engaging, and fun! Interactive notebooks make therapy memorable and students end the year with a portfolio of sorts!
Let’s take a peek inside my newsletter exclusive free interactive articulation notebook! It features activities for /l/, /r/, /th/, and /s/ blends!
First up, we have an initial and final sorting activity! It provides students with the opportunity to practice their sounds in multiple positions of words. This is also a great way to weave in phonemic awareness, as students practice identifying the sound at the beginning and end of the words! It also requires students to visually organize – there’s so much going on with this little activity!
I love thematic flaps! Students practice the words that are located around the flaps and then they lift up the flap to write sentences containing their words! This is a great way to practice writing and vocabulary too! If you’re working with younger students, you can have them simply re-write the words under the flaps.
Here is what it looks like when you lift up the flap! Super interactive!
This freebie also contains a variety of flaps. Students can lift up the flaps and re-write the word, write phrases, or they can even draw a happy face under the flap if they practiced their word ten times!
Sentence Petals! Students practice their words at the sentence level. They can lift up the petals and write their own sentences too!
